DA Parliamentary leader Mmusi Maimane made a splash with his State of the Nation Address debate speech last week, in which he described President Jacob Zuma as a “broken man, presiding over a broken society”.
But, besides inspiring oratory, what else could or should the official opposition be doing to improve the lot of everyday South Africans? And if the DA were ever to govern South Africa, how would the party tackle the challenges of fixing our “broken society”?
