Friday’s horrific head-on collision between two Metrobuses on Jan Smuts Avenue in Johannesburg left three people dead.
EWN reported conflicting messages from Metrobus managing director, Mavela Dlamini, who said he “was left shocked by the accident and if it were up to him, he’d halt the serviceâ€. However, he went on to say that Metrobus is a safe transport service.
But, with a litany of bad practices – from poor training to speeding to poor maintenance to overloading – Metrobus needs to get its vehicles and drivers in order to prevent another horror crash from happening in future.
