Economic Freedom Fighters leader (EFF) Julius Malema has turned #PayBackTheMoney into his personal catch phrase. Of course, when Malema utters his famous cry, his finger is pointed firmly at President Jacob Zuma, and the money that Malema wants to be paid back is the money that was used to upgrade Nkandla.
But Malema seems to have a conveniently short memory when it comes to paying back money himself. On the weekend, the Sunday Times reported that the South African Revenue Services (Sars) has filed court papers asking for Malema to pay back a further R14-million in back taxes, in addition to the R18-million he already owes.
So, we’d like to ask Malema: will he be paying his taxes using eWallet, Shoprite facility, or cash?
