Shocking TransAsia Airways crash caught on camera [VIDEO]

Dramatic footage caught on a dashboard camera shows the moment TransAsia Airways flight GE235 dropped out of the sky and crashed into a river in Taiwan early on Wednesday morning. At least 25 people have been confirmed dead.

The footage showed the plane descending rapidly over a road before clipping a bridge and slamming into the river.

There were 58 people, mostly Chinese tourists, onboard the aircraft when it crashed, shortly after taking off from Taipei airport.

Shocked reactions to footage included an expletive laden tweet erroneously sent from the News24 Twitter feed. The organisation quickly deleted the tweet and issued an apology.
