Mbalula disputes claims of paid trip but Twitter was not here for it

Police Minister, Fikila Mbalula took to Twitter last night to dismiss claims made by Eye Witness News (EWN) senior reporter Barry Bateman, that a South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) sporting good supplier, Sedgars, paid possibly as much as R680 000 for a trip to Dubai by Minister Fikile Mbalula last year.

Despite Mbalula disputing these claims, Twitter went in on him with lit memes and questions.

Twitter started speculating that the money that was meant for making sporting attires for the South African athletes was used to pay for Mbalula’s trip.

This morning, Mbalula took to Twitter again to “fix” a cartoon by Zapiro accusing him of using taxpayers money for the trip.

But Twitter was still not having it.

Mbalula went on to call these accusations a “smear campaign” and said that he paid for his own trip.
